God’s Meltdown

Thursday of the Fourth Week of Lent

God invites us to put our faith in Jesus. It may be easier for some people, but not for everyone. The skeptic and the agnostic will always demand proof. And we were all skeptics and agnostics at some point along the journey. But since faith is both God’s gift and our response in freedom, these two essential elements need to align. We cannot come to faith if God has not given the gift. Nor can God force us to surrender in trust if we are not convinced or willing. It’s a tricky proposition that only works when both sides lay their defenses down and step forward in willing trust. Until then, even God has to be patient. And God is … and merciful beyond measure.

This mass was offered for the repose of +Chas Pauly.
