It’s time.

I’ve been thinking about it for a while now.

I closed my Facebook account a couple of years ago. I was spending way too much time on it. And it only increased my stress levels. Then when they (FB) announced they were no longer fact-checking content, and the number of ads just kept multiplying, and that algorithm kept suggesting my next Amazon purchase, I decided it was time to bow out of social media. It was a world becoming ever more foreign to me each day. I thought it was better for my mental health to get out of the fast lane and go walkabout instead.

Then recently I thought I’d do the same for this blog since fewer and fewer people are finding it (intentionally or accidentally), and I’m not really making much of an effort to get noticed. But the reminders of subscription renewals just keep coming. And I think it’s time to get off the digital train and walk the rest of the journey. Oh I’m not putting my pen down, or rather I’m not abandoning my keyboard. I’m just getting off the next stop.

And if you need to find me, you can always go to the parish YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/@churchofst.therese6142) where I might be giving a homily. Or you can reach me by email: middlechildcatholicpriest@gmail.com.

My last post will be before the new year. I’ll probably leave the blog up for a while … until it’s time to renew … and I don’t.

Thanks for finding my musings entertaining or enlightening. Wisdom is always around us … if only we know where to look.
