On our last full day in London, we went to see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. We arrived early and noticed some well planted barricades all around the front of the palace, around Victoria Monument, and along the garden entrances on both sides of the palace. As the time drew near for the changing of the guard, more people began to arrive, positioning themselves along the fence in front of the palace, all around Victoria Monument, along the sidewalks around the monument. There were also lots of security personnel, mounted police, and what had to be some heavily armed guards – with massive firepower. We parked ourselves at the Victoria Monument facing the front gates of the palace.
We went and had lunch and found our way to the Victoria & Albert Museum.
